Although there are no safety reasons why an obese patient is considered an inappropriate candidate for the LipoSonix treatment, realistic expectations are fundamental to treatment success. An average 2.5 cm waist circumference reduction may not make a noticeable difference for an obese patient and may thus decrease the level of patient satisfaction.
Additional treatments to the same area are allowed if more reduction is desired. The time between treatments should be at least 8 weeks to allow for healing and remodelling of the treated tissue.
